Scrubby pricing, explained
Scrubby specialises in catch-all addresses, and its price depends on how deep you check each one. A quick check spends one credit. A deep check sends a real message, waits for the result and spends more. This page explains the credit model, so you can work out what your own list will cost.
| What to check | Scrubby | ZapBounce |
|---|---|---|
| How you buy | Monthly plans, or pay-as-you-go packs | Pay-as-you-go packs |
| Credit life | Pay-as-you-go credits never expire | Never expire |
| Quick check | One credit | One credit, at every depth |
| Deep check | More credits; sends a real message | No message is ever sent |
| When results arrive | Deep results come in over several days | Returned when the file finishes |
| Catch-all rows | Billed at the depth you chose | Labelled catch_all, billed once |
| Plan and pack prices | Printed on scrubby.io/pricing | $5 for 1,000, $25 for 10,000, $139 for 100,000 |

Two ways to buy Scrubby credits
Scrubby sells monthly plans with a set number of credits, and pay-as-you-go packs for one-off jobs. The pay-as-you-go credits never expire, so a pack bought for one campaign can wait for the next. New accounts start with free credits.
Your real rate depends less on which option you buy and more on how you spend each credit. That's the depth question in the next section. For a view of how the whole market prices verification, see how much verification costs.
Quick check or deep check: the choice that sets your bill
A quick Scrubby check spends one credit. A deep check spends more, because Scrubby sends a real message to the address and watches for a bounce. First results come within a day, and the final result arrives after several days.
So the same list can cost very different amounts. Send only your catch-all rows deep and the extra spend stays small. Send the whole file deep and the credit count climbs fast. Split last quarter's usage by depth before you pick a plan size.
How ZapBounce prices the same catch-all rows
ZapBounce charges one credit per address at every depth. For a catch-all domain we send one probe to a random address at the same domain. If it accepts, the row comes back catch_all, costs one credit, and nothing is guessed after that.
No message reaches your contact, because our SMTP check on port 25 closes before DATA. Unknowns and duplicates are never billed, and credits never expire. Every tier is on our pricing page. Our answer on whether verification sends an email explains the difference.
Working out your cost on both
Count the rows in your next list, then count how many sit on catch-all domains. On Scrubby, price the quick checks plus the deep checks at their credit rate, from the figures on its pricing page. On ZapBounce, multiply the unique rows by one credit and read the tier: 10,000 addresses cost $25.
Then add the days a deep check holds your send. For the product side by side, read ZapBounce vs Scrubby. The wider field is on Scrubby alternatives, and BounceBan pricing covers another catch-all specialist. The comparisons hub lists the rest.
What Scrubby gets right and wrong on price
Both columns are required here. A page that only fills one is an advertisement wearing a review's clothes.
Where Scrubby is genuinely good
- Pay-as-you-go credits never expire.
- Monthly plans and pay-as-you-go packs on the same page, so you can match the plan to your schedule.
- Free credits for new accounts.
- A quick check at one credit for rows that don't need the deep pass.
Where Scrubby falls short
- A deep check costs more credits than a quick one, so the bill depends on how many rows go deep.
- A deep check sends a real message to the address before your campaign does.
- Final deep results arrive after several days, which holds the send.
