Built for the form, not the list

Xverify's product is the check at the moment someone submits a lead form. It validates the email, the phone number and the postal address, aiming to stop fake or fraudulent submissions before they reach your CRM. For a lead-generation business paying per lead, that's the check that matters.

ZapBounce runs the same SMTP check one address at a time through POST /v1/verify, so a form or CRM can call it on submit. Each result carries a did_you_mean typo hint and the literal smtp_code. See real-time verification for the setup.

The no-cache decision

Xverify refuses to cache. Every request goes to the mail server fresh, rather than reusing an answer from last week. Xverify prices that work into its ladder openly.

ZapBounce also runs its own SMTP check on port 25 for each address and stamps every row with a checked_at time, so you know when the answer was given. The connection closes before DATA, so no message reaches the address. The steps are on how it works.

What the 98% claim measures

Xverify states 98% accuracy across the major domains. Like most headline figures, it scores the verdicts returned. Rows with no verdict sit outside it. Hunter's benchmark, which counted every row, put 15 verifiers between 31.2% and 70.0% on 3,000 business addresses (3 November 2025).

ZapBounce reports two numbers on every file: coverage, the share of your list with a definite verdict, and accuracy on those verdicts. Our note on why verifiers disagree explains the gap between the two kinds of figure.

Price once the job is a list

Xverify's ladder starts at $5 for 500 and reaches $10 for 1,000, $70 for 10,000 and $400 for 100,000, with no minimum. At form volumes that's easy to carry. On a full list cleanup, the per-address rate sets the bill.

ZapBounce charges $5 for 1,000, $25 for 10,000 and $139 for 100,000, with unknowns and duplicates never billed. Credits never expire, and 100 free credits arrive every month with no card. The ladder runs to $949 for a million on our pricing page.

Testing Xverify on your own data

Take 1,000 addresses you've already mailed, where you know which ones bounced. Run them through Xverify's free 100 and a small pack, and through ZapBounce's free monthly checks plus a $5 pack. Score each against your real bounces and count the rows each left without a verdict.

The scorecard on Xverify

Both columns are required here. A page that only fills one is an advertisement wearing a review's clothes.

Where Xverify is genuinely good

  • Real-time validation of email, phone and postal address from one service.
  • No caching: every request is a fresh lookup.
  • No minimum purchase and no setup fee.
  • A focus on form fraud that fits lead-generation businesses.

Where Xverify falls short

  • $400 for 100,000 emails makes a full list cleanup costly at volume.
  • The 100 free verifications are one-time, not recurring.
  • No credit expiry rule stated on its public pages.
  • The 98% claim scores returned verdicts and leaves out rows with no answer.
