Best email verification MCP servers
Six email verifiers that publish an MCP server or agent plugin, ranked on what an AI agent spends: billing for unknowns, credit expiry and entry price.
How this was compared
Disclosure: ZapBounce is our product. Figures were read from each vendor's own pages in September 2026, and the criteria below were applied to every entry, ours included.
The short version
- A published MCP server or agent plugin, read on each vendor's own site on 24 September 2026.
- Tool scope: whether the agent checks one address, a whole file, or both, through the same account.
- Billing for unknown results, because an agent that retries a slow Microsoft 365 domain pays for every retry that a vendor bills.
- Credit expiry and entry price, since agent usage is bursty and a pack often sits idle for weeks.
- Disclosure: ZapBounce is our product, and the same criteria were applied to it.

The ranking
Best first, with the situation each one fits.
ZapBounce
Disclosure: ZapBounce is our product. The zapbounce-mcp package is a thin server over two API routes, POST /v1/verify for one address and /v1/files for a list. Your agent gets back one of four results (valid, invalid, catch_all or unknown) plus role, disposable and free-provider flags, and our own SMTP check closes the connection before any message is sent.
- Best for:
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code or ChatGPT workflows that check a lead before writing to it, or clean a CSV mid-task. Set it up from the MCP library page, read the API reference, and budget from pricing: $5 for 1,000 checks, $25 for 10,000.
Hunter
Hunter publishes an MCP page at hunter.io/mcp, plus claude.md and chatgpt.md guides, so an assistant reaches its finder and its verifier from one account.
- Best for:
- Agents that find an address and verify it in the same step, where verification costs half a credit.
- Less suited to:
- Agents that run in bursts, since Hunter credits expire after 12 months (read 24 September 2026).
ZeroBounce
ZeroBounce publishes an MCP page at zerobounce.net/mcp and ties verification into its wider deliverability suite.
- Best for:
- Teams already paying for ZeroBounce's inbox placement and blacklist monitoring who want their agent on the same account.
- Less suited to:
- Pay-as-you-go agent budgets at 10,000 checks, which ZeroBounce sells as a subscription only (read 24 September 2026).
EmailListVerify
EmailListVerify publishes an MCP server page at emaillistverify.com/mcp-server, on a budget price ladder with credits that never expire.
- Best for:
- Low-cost agent checks where the pack may sit unused between projects.
- Less suited to:
- Budgeting on unknown rows, since its pricing page does not state whether unknowns are billed.
Allegrow
Allegrow documents a Claude email MCP in its knowledge base and sells verification as add-on credits at $8 per 1,000.
- Best for:
- Outbound teams already on an Allegrow plan who want Claude to reach it.
- Less suited to:
- Buyers who want verification without a monthly plan, since add-on credits sit on a plan from $99 a month (read 24 September 2026).
BounceBan
BounceBan publishes a Claude Code plugin around its catch-all verification service.
- Best for:
- Developers who work inside Claude Code and send mostly to catch-all B2B domains.
- Less suited to:
- Buyers comparing per-check prices up front, since its figures were not readable on its public pages on 24 September 2026.
Why ZapBounce ranks first
How to choose
- Unknown results: an agent retries. ZapBounce never bills an unknown or a duplicate, so the retry loop costs nothing when a domain throttles the check.
- Credits between runs: Hunter credits expire after 12 months (read 24 September 2026). ZapBounce credits never expire.
- Entry price: ZeroBounce starts at $39 for 2,000 credits and Allegrow sells add-on credits on a plan from $99 a month. ZapBounce starts at $5 for 1,000 with no plan.
- Lists as well as single addresses: the zapbounce-mcp server calls /v1/files for a whole CSV, so an agent that has to clean an export mid-task uses the same tool and the same credits.
Questions people ask
What is an email verification MCP server?
It is a small program that speaks the Model Context Protocol, so an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT calls a verifier as a tool. The model sends an address, the server calls the verifier's API, and the result comes back into the conversation as data the model acts on.
Can Claude or ChatGPT verify an email without an MCP server?
No. A language model has no network connection to a mail server, so it can only judge whether an address looks right. Checking that a mailbox exists needs an SMTP conversation with the receiving server, which is what the verifier behind the MCP server runs.
Does the zapbounce-mcp server send email to the address it checks?
No. ZapBounce opens an SMTP connection to the receiving server, asks about the recipient and closes the connection before the DATA step, so no message is ever sent.
How much does it cost to let an agent verify emails with ZapBounce?
Each valid, invalid or catch_all result costs one credit, at $5 for 1,000 or $25 for 10,000. Unknown results and duplicates cost nothing, credits never expire, and every account gets 100 free checks a month with no card.
Why is a vendor with an MCP page left out of this list?
Every entry here has a published MCP server or agent plugin on its own site and a price or pricing structure we could read on 24 September 2026. A vendor we could not read on both counts is left out rather than guessed at.
