Kickbox pricing, explained
Kickbox sells verification as pay-as-you-go credit packs, from 500 up to a million. The ladder is easy to read. The clause that decides what you really pay sits in the terms, not the price table.
| Pack size | Kickbox price | ZapBounce price |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | Free, once | Free every month, no card |
| 500 | $5 | Covered by the $5 pack of 1,000 |
| 1,000 | $10 | $5 |
| 10,000 | $70 | $25 |
| 100,000 | $500 | $139 |
| 250,000 | $1,100 | Covered by the 500,000 pack at $549 |
| 1,000,000 | $2,999 | $949 |
| Credit life | One year from purchase | Never expire |

How the Kickbox ladder is built
You buy a pack, you spend it, you buy another. Kickbox runs pay-as-you-go only, with no monthly plan, and the pack sizes climb from 500 at $5 to a million at $2,999. The first 100 checks are free, which covers one test sample.
Your per-check cost falls as the pack grows. That's normal for this market. What matters is how much of each pack you use before it lapses, and that depends on the clock covered in the next section. You can see how the whole market prices this on our cost of verification answer.
The one-year clock on every pack
Kickbox's terms say credits "automatically expire one (1) year from the date of purchase", and that credits are billed in advance and non-refundable. So a big pack bought for a migration has twelve months to get used. Whatever is left on the anniversary is gone.
Here's where that bites. Say you buy 100,000 credits for $500 to clean a CRM export, and you use 60,000 of them. If your next big list lands fourteen months later, you're buying again. Kickbox and Hunter are the two vendors we found that expire credits at twelve months. ZapBounce credits never expire, which we explain in why credits should never expire.
Cost per thousand at each rung
Divide each Kickbox pack by its size and the rate per thousand lands at $10 for 1,000, $7 at 10,000, $5 at 100,000, $4.40 at 250,000 and about $3 at a million. Kickbox leaves unresolved results off your tally, so the rate holds for the rows that get a verdict.
The ZapBounce ladder runs $5 per thousand at 1,000, $2.50 at 10,000, $1.39 at 100,000 and $0.95 at a million. Unresolved results and repeated rows are never billed, and that rule is printed as a headline on our pricing page. A monthly plan costs 15% less than the same credits bought pay-as-you-go, and unused credits roll over while the plan is active.
Putting a real number on your next list
Start with how often you clean. If you verify one large file a year, the one-year clock barely matters and you can compare pack prices directly. If you clean small batches as they arrive, count how many packs you'd buy a year and how much of each you'd use in time.
Then run the same 100 addresses through both tools. You get 100 free checks on ZapBounce every month, so the test costs nothing. For the full side-by-side, see ZapBounce vs Kickbox, or the wider field on Kickbox alternatives and the comparisons hub.
What Kickbox gets right and wrong on price
Both columns are required here. A page that only fills one is an advertisement wearing a review's clothes.
Where Kickbox is genuinely good
- A clear public ladder: seven pack sizes, each with its dollar figure, on one page.
- Unresolved results are handed back to your tally, so you pay only for rows that got an answer.
- The per-thousand rate drops by roughly two thirds from the smallest pack to the largest.
- A $5 entry pack keeps a first purchase small.
Where Kickbox falls short
- Every pack lapses twelve months after you buy it, per their terms.
- Payment is up front and non-refundable, so a leftover balance is lost when the year runs out.
- No monthly plan, so steady monthly cleaning means topping up pack by pack.
- A 10,000 pack costs $70 on Kickbox, against $25 on ZapBounce.
