ZapBounce vs Bouncer

This is the comparison we find hardest to write. Bouncer publishes no accuracy percentage at all, refuses to bill duplicates or unresolved results, and prints a pricing page you can read in one pass. Those are the three things we built our own positioning on, and they were doing all of them first.

How Bouncer prices it

Flat and legible: $8 a thousand, $60 at ten thousand, $400 at a hundred thousand, two thousand dollars at a million. Ours is lower at volume, but theirs is the one you can explain to a finance team without a spreadsheet.

Where Bouncer is the better choice

Stated plainly, because a comparison page that never concedes anything is not worth reading.

  • They publish no accuracy percentage at all, which is more honest than most of this market and worth saying plainly.
  • EU data handling and a privacy posture that matters if your list is European.
  • Their toxicity check flags risky domains that a pure SMTP result would not surface.

Where we differ

What ZapBounce does differently

  • We report coverage and accuracy as a pair rather than leaving accuracy unstated.
  • Our per-address price at volume is lower: $139 against $400 at 100,000.

Moving off Bouncer

Rarely honesty, and that is worth saying. Bouncer publishes no accuracy figure, never charges for duplicates or unknowns, and prints the clearest pricing page in the category. What moves people is the rate at volume.

An easy move in either direction, which cuts both ways. Bouncer handles data inside the EU. We don't, so a residency requirement is a gap on our side that no migration step closes.

What Bouncer cannot do either

Questions people ask about Bouncer

Bouncer publishes no accuracy figure. Is that a weakness?

The opposite, and we will say so on our own comparison page. A number with no denominator beside it tells you very little, so declining to print one is the more defensible position. It is also the position we took.

Then why would anyone move?

Volume pricing, mostly. At 100,000 addresses they list $400 and we list $139. That is the whole argument, and if EU residency matters to you it is not enough of one.

Do either of you charge for duplicates?

Neither of us does. Bouncer set that expectation in this market before we arrived, and it should be table stakes everywhere by now.

Is ZapBounce cheaper than Bouncer?

At 100,000 addresses we list $139 and they list $400, and 1,000,000 for $2,000. Compare the per-address rate rather than the headline, and check what each side does with unknowns.

Can I test both before deciding?

Yes, and you should. Run the same sample of a few thousand addresses through each and compare how many came back unresolved. That difference matters more than either accuracy claim.

Bouncer has the toxicity check and EU data handling. We have neither. The one row we win is the per-address rate at volume.
