ZapBounce vs ZeroBounce

ZeroBounce sells a deliverability department. Verification is one tab beside blacklist monitoring, inbox placement testing and DMARC tooling, and the subscription prices all of it together. If you open every tab, this page will not change your mind. If you only ever open the verifier, the 99.6% headline and the $39 floor are both worth a harder look.

ZeroBounce figures read from their own pricing page in September 2026.

How ZeroBounce prices it

Subscription-led, with a 2,000-credit minimum at the entry. The per-address rate improves with tier, but the floor stays high because the suite is priced in. You are paying for breadth whether or not you use it.

Where ZeroBounce is the better choice

Stated plainly, because a comparison page that never concedes anything is not worth reading.

  • The widest product around the verifier. If you want inbox-placement testing and blacklist monitoring from one vendor, they have it and we do not.
  • Years of operating history, a large review base on G2, and the support organization that comes with it.
  • Their activity data can tell you whether an address has engaged recently, which no SMTP check can establish.

Where we differ

What ZapBounce does differently

  • Their entry is $39 for a 2,000-credit minimum. Ours is $5 for 1,000.
  • We report coverage next to accuracy, so you can see what share of your list we declined to judge.
  • We do not bill for unknowns.

Moving off ZeroBounce

Price at volume, almost always. ZeroBounce sits at the top of this market and the gap is not marginal: their per-address rate is roughly ten to fifteen times the challenger tier. People stay for the surrounding suite and leave when they realize they only ever used the verifier.

Straightforward if you only use verification. Harder if you have come to depend on inbox-placement testing, blacklist monitoring or their DMARC tooling, because those are separate products you would need to replace separately. Audit which of their tabs you actually open before you price a move.

What ZeroBounce cannot do either

Questions people ask about ZeroBounce

We use ZeroBounce for blacklist monitoring too. Does switching cost us that?

Yes. Blacklist monitoring, inbox placement and their DMARC tooling are separate products and we do not build any of them. Price a replacement for those before you price the verification move, or the saving will be imaginary.

Is the 99.6% figure wrong?

Probably not wrong. It answers a narrower question than it looks like it answers. It describes the verdicts they returned, after the accept-all domains and the servers that refused to answer had already left the pool. Ask what share of a test list reached a definitive verdict, and the number starts meaning something.

Why is their entry price $39 when yours is $5?

Their floor is a 2,000-credit minimum with the suite priced into it. Ours is 1,000 credits at $5 because verification is the only thing we sell. Neither is a trick. They are different products wearing the same category name.

Is ZapBounce cheaper than ZeroBounce?

At 100,000 addresses we list $139 and they list Subscription only. Compare the per-address rate rather than the headline, and check what each side does with unknowns.

Can I test both before deciding?

Yes, and you should. Run the same sample of a few thousand addresses through each and compare how many came back unresolved. That difference matters more than either accuracy claim.

Run a few thousand addresses through both and compare the unresolved share against the accuracy claim. ZeroBounce also returns activity data on an address. We return a verdict and the unresolved count, and nothing about engagement.
