AWeber reviews imported lists manually before approving them for sending. That is unusual among sending platforms, and it changes the order of operations: your list is read by a person before it is read by a mail server.
A list that arrives already verified gives that reviewer less to ask about, and the approval tends to move faster.
A human reads your list before you can send to it
AWeber's import review looks at where contacts came from and how the list was built. A large import onto a young account is the case they look at hardest.
Approval is not automatic and it is not instant. A list submitted on a Friday before a Monday campaign is a scheduling risk that has nothing to do with your data being good.
After approval, ordinary bounce-rate constraints apply. AWeber has been running long enough to be conservative about this, and their deliverability team is direct about lists that generate bounces.

Use a custom field for the verdict
AWeber custom fields are usable in segment conditions, so the verdict can gate who receives a broadcast.
Keep the results file as documentation
If the reviewer asks how the list was cleaned, a dated summary showing what was checked and what could not be resolved is a better answer than a description.
Setting it up
- Export the subscriber list from AWeber as CSV with custom fields included.
- Verify the file and download the results when the webhook fires.
- Create a custom field in AWeber for the verdict.
- Import the verified list and submit it for review, keeping the summary to hand.
- Unsubscribe the invalid addresses rather than deleting, so they cannot re-enter through a later import.
- Segment catch-all subscribers separately and watch their bounce rate on its own.

Does verification speed up the AWeber import review?
It removes one thing the reviewer would otherwise ask about. Consent and list provenance are separate questions you still have to answer.
Should I delete invalid subscribers?
Unsubscribe them instead. AWeber then blocks them from re-entering through a future import, which deletion does not.
How old can a list be before AWeber objects?
Ask them rather than guessing. Their deliverability team is direct and it is a shorter conversation than a rejected import.
