Verification in a lead generation pipeline
Lead generation pipelines mix sources that fail in different ways. A demo request typed by a buyer is good data. An enriched record where a tool guessed the address from a name and a domain often is not.
The cost of confusing them is a sales team working a queue where some of the leads never existed, and losing confidence in the whole pipeline.
Enriched records are guesses that look like data
Enrichment infers an address by applying a company's observed pattern to a name. It arrives in the CRM in the same field as an address someone typed themselves, with no marker separating the two, and sales works both the same way.
A meaningful share of those inferences are wrong, and the ones on catch-all domains cannot be confirmed by anybody. A verifier that reports them as valid has quietly turned a guess into a fact inside your CRM.
Gated-content forms have a different problem. People supply a throwaway address to get the whitepaper, and that is useful information about intent rather than a data error to be cleaned away.
How the work gets done
The order that matters for lead generation teams, rather than a generic checklist.
Verify at the form for inbound
On blur, with the typo suggestion. It catches the mistake while the person is still on the page and it costs half a cent.
Verify enriched records before they reach a rep
This is where the guesses are. A verdict in a CRM field tells the rep whether an address was confirmed or inferred, which changes how they use it.
Route catch-alls to the phone first
An unconfirmable address at a company worth calling is a call, not an email. That turns a limitation into a routing rule.
Score on the verdict alongside the source
A confirmed address from a mid-quality source is worth more in a queue than an inferred one from a good source, and a verdict field lets your scoring see the difference.
What verification will not do here
What it costs
Inbound volumes usually fit the $25 tier for 10,000. Enrichment-heavy pipelines run larger and reach $139 for 100,000, where duplicates and unknowns still cost nothing.
Every tier works the same way. Unknown results and duplicates are never billed, and credits do not expire.
Questions we get asked
Should enriched and inbound leads be treated the same?
No. One was typed by the person it belongs to and the other was inferred. Verify both, store the verdict, and let your routing see which is which.
How do I handle catch-all leads?
Route them to a phone-first play. The company is real even though the mailbox is unconfirmable, and calling is not blocked by an accept-all mail server.
Does this improve lead quality?
It removes leads that were never contactable. Whether the rest are qualified is a scoring question that verification does not touch.
