Emailable pricing, explained

Emailable is easy to try and harder to price. The free credits are generous. The first paid purchase is not small, and the rate you end up on depends on whether you buy credits once or subscribe.

The 5,000-credit floor decides it for small lists

Emailable's first paid step is 5,000 credits. If your list has 900 addresses, you still buy the 5,000. The spare credits don't expire, so nothing is lost. But you pay for four thousand checks you may not need for months.

ZapBounce has no minimum. You pay $5 for 1,000 checks, and a list of 900 costs $5. If you clean small batches from forms, events or a CRM export, that floor matters more than any rate further up the ladder. See how much email verification costs for the wider market.

Subscription or one-off credits

Emailable sells credits two ways. You can buy a pack once, or you can subscribe and get a monthly allowance. The subscription rate at 10,000 checks works out near $0.0076 an address. Subscription credits roll over while the plan runs.

On the ZapBounce ladder, 10,000 checks cost $25 pay-as-you-go. A monthly plan costs 15% less than the same credits bought pay-as-you-go, and unused credits roll over while the plan is active. Both routes are on our pricing page.

Refunds for unknowns, and what that means for you

Emailable refunds the credits spent on duplicates and on results it could not resolve. That lands close to the rule of never billing an unknown. The difference is the step in between: you are charged, then credited back.

ZapBounce never puts an unknown on the invoice. There is no refund to wait for and no credit note to match against a batch. A catch_all result costs a normal credit, because an accept-all server is a real finding about the domain. Read what an unknown result means for how the two differ.

At 100,000, you are talking to sales

Emailable's 100,000 tier is a custom quote. For a large list, that means a call before you know the price. It also means two teams can pay two different rates for the same work.

ZapBounce prints every tier up to a million: $139 for 100,000, $549 for 500,000 and $949 for a million. The side-by-side is on ZapBounce vs Emailable, and Emailable vs ZeroBounce covers the other common pairing. The comparisons hub lists the rest.

Match the purchase to how your list grows

Think about the rhythm of your list before you compare rates. A store that gathers a few hundred shoppers each month from checkout and a newsletter popup needs small, frequent cleans. A sales team that loads a trade-show export every quarter needs one large clean, then quiet weeks.

Emailable's 5,000-credit floor fits the second pattern better than the first. ZapBounce runs both rhythms from one balance. Top up $5 at a time for the trickle, or buy 100,000 checks for $139 ahead of a big import. Credits sit untouched between runs, so seasonal peaks like Black Friday or conference season never strand spare checks.

Matching the invoice to the file

Finance teams reconcile a verification charge line by line. Every ZapBounce result row carries a billed field set to true or false, so one spreadsheet filter shows exactly which addresses used a credit. Payments run through Stripe, and each batch keeps its own export with timestamps you can attach to an expense claim.

Spend the free credits on a fair trial

Emailable's 250 free credits are enough for a meaningful trial if you choose the rows carefully. Don't upload the newest signups, since nearly all of them will pass. Pull a random slice instead, weighted toward older contacts, corporate domains and addresses nobody has mailed in a year.

Run that same slice through ZapBounce with our 100 monthly free checks, then compare three things per vendor: the share with no verdict, the share marked accept-all, and what each file would cost at full size. That tells you more than any headline accuracy figure, and it takes an afternoon.

What Emailable gets right and wrong on price

Both columns are required here. A page that only fills one is an advertisement wearing a review's clothes.

Where Emailable is genuinely good

  • 250 free credits, one of the larger free allowances in this market.
  • Credits never expire, and subscription credits roll over while the plan runs.
  • Duplicates and unknown results are refunded.
  • Two ways to buy, a one-off pack or a subscription.

Where Emailable falls short

  • A 5,000-credit minimum, even for a list of a few hundred.
  • The 100,000 tier is a custom quote rather than a published price.
  • Unknowns are refunded after billing rather than left off the invoice.

Questions about Emailable

How much does Emailable cost?

Emailable's smallest purchase is 5,000 credits. With a subscription, 10,000 checks cost about $0.0076 an address, and 100,000 checks are a custom quote, read in September 2026.

Does Emailable have a free plan?

Emailable gives 250 free credits. ZapBounce gives 100 free checks every month with no card, and the allowance comes back each month.

Do Emailable credits expire?

No. Emailable states that credits never expire, and subscription credits roll over while the plan is active. ZapBounce credits never expire either.

Does Emailable charge for unknown results?

Emailable refunds the credits spent on duplicates and unknown results. ZapBounce never bills an unknown in the first place, so there is nothing to refund.

What is the cheapest way to verify 1,000 emails?

At Emailable the smallest purchase is 5,000 credits. At ZapBounce, 1,000 checks cost $5 with no minimum, and 100 checks a month are free with no card.

How long does ZapBounce keep an uploaded list?

Thirty days by default. Each API key has its own retention window, from 0, where the file is deleted on download, up to 90 days, and DELETE /v1/batches/{id} removes a batch at once. ZapBounce never sells or reuses an uploaded address. The data processing terms cover the rest.

How big should a verifier trial sample be?

A few hundred rows picked at random give a usable read, as long as they mirror your whole file. Include a handful of personal inboxes, several company domains and some contacts older than two years, so every verdict type shows up. Our free email verifier takes the first rows.

Count the addresses in the lists you cleaned last year. If most were under 5,000, the floor is your real cost. Compare it with our pricing and run a free sample.

We publish our own ladder
