Truelist pricing, explained
Truelist's pricing has two layers. The first check is priced by volume band, and the rate per 1,000 falls as the file grows. The second layer is an Enhanced pass on the hard rows, sold for extra credits, and on a B2B list that second line can decide the bill.
| What to check | Truelist | ZapBounce |
|---|---|---|
| How the first check is priced | Volume bands; the rate per 1,000 falls as the file grows | $5 for 1,000, $25 for 10,000, $139 for 100,000 |
| Catch-all rows | An Enhanced pass for extra credits | One credit, billed once, after one probe |
| Unknown rows | An Enhanced pass for extra credits | Never billed |
| Heavy monthly volume | Unlimited monthly plans | Monthly plan at 15% less than pay-as-you-go, unused credits roll over |
| Credit life | Credits never expire | Credits never expire |
| Free allowance | Free credits on signup | 100 credits every month, no card |
| Validation data kept | Deleted after 30 days | 30 days by default, set per API key from 0 to 90 |
Truelist's model read on truelist.io (/pricing, /switch, /security, /docs/sub-processors) on 24 September 2026. This page describes the structure and quotes no Truelist dollar figure; read their current bands in your browser. ZapBounce figures are from our own pricing page.
The first check: volume bands
Truelist sets its rate by how many addresses you buy at once. The rate per 1,000 drops as the band grows, so one large purchase costs less per address than several small ones. Plan your volume for the year before you pick a band.
ZapBounce prints one ladder with the same shape: $5 for 1,000, $25 for 10,000, $89 for 50,000 and $139 for 100,000, down to $949 for a million. Every tier is on our pricing page, and the credits never expire.
The second pass: Enhanced validation
Truelist's Enhanced pass reruns the hard rows, catch-all and unknown, for extra credits. That's where the bill grows on a B2B list, because about 28% of a 10,000-address B2B benchmark sat on domains that accept every recipient. Price the Enhanced line on your own file before you compare headline rates.
Here's the protocol fact behind it. An accept-all server answers 250 to a real address and to a random one alike, so no pass at any price makes that server say which mailbox exists. ZapBounce proves the case with one random-address probe, returns the row as catch_all, bills one credit and stops. Our note on whether catch-all emails can be verified goes further.
Unknown rows cost nothing here
An unknown row is a server that wouldn't give a straight answer: greylisting, throttling, a block on probes, a timeout. On Truelist, a second look at those rows is part of the paid Enhanced pass.
ZapBounce never bills an unknown row, and each one carries its reason, such as greylisted or throttled. Read what an unknown result means for the full list.
Unlimited plans and monthly plans
Truelist sells Unlimited monthly plans for teams that verify all month long. Before you take one, count last quarter's checks and divide the plan price by them. An Unlimited plan pays when your volume is steady and high.
ZapBounce's monthly plan costs 15% less than the same credits pay-as-you-go, and unused credits roll over while the plan stays active. Pay-as-you-go packs never expire. ZapBounce vs Truelist, Truelist alternatives and the comparisons hub set the products side by side.
What Truelist gets right and wrong on price
Both columns are required here. A page that only fills one is an advertisement wearing a review's clothes.
Where Truelist is genuinely good
- A per-1,000 rate that falls as the file grows.
- Credits never expire.
- Unlimited monthly plans for teams that verify every day.
- A first-month refund offer for teams switching in.
Where Truelist falls short
- The Enhanced pass on catch-all and unknown rows costs extra credits, so B2B lists cost more than the headline rate.
- The rate you pay depends on the band you buy, so small top-ups cost more per address.

Questions about Truelist
How does Truelist pricing work?
Truelist prices by volume band, with the rate per 1,000 falling as your file grows, and sells Unlimited monthly plans. Its Enhanced pass on catch-all and unknown rows costs extra credits, per truelist.io/pricing read on 24 September 2026. Credits never expire.
What is Truelist Enhanced validation?
Enhanced validation is Truelist's second pass on catch-all and unknown rows, billed in extra credits. ZapBounce bills a catch_all row one credit after a single random-address probe and never bills an unknown row.
Do Truelist credits expire?
No. Truelist credits never expire, per its pricing page on 24 September 2026. ZapBounce credits never expire either, and 100 free credits arrive every month with no card.
How long does Truelist keep my data?
Truelist's security page says validation data is deleted after 30 days, and its sub-processors are AWS in the US and OVH in France (read 24 September 2026). ZapBounce keeps data 30 days by default and each API key sets 0 to 90 days.
Count the catch-all and unknown rows in your last Truelist result and price the Enhanced pass on them. Then price the same file with one credit per catch_all and nothing for unknowns.
We publish our own ladder
