The short version
- ZapBounce costs $5 for 1,000 checks and $949 for 1,000,000, and the credits never expire.
- You pay for valid, invalid and catch-all results only. Unknowns and duplicates are free, so the credits you need are usually fewer than the rows you upload.
- A monthly plan cuts every price by 15%, and unused credits roll over while the plan runs.
- Compare a rival's price at the pack that covers your whole list, and read its expiry terms before you buy.
How the calculator reaches your number
Start with the rows on your list. The calculator takes out the duplicate share you enter, because ZapBounce checks each address once and bills it once. Then it takes out the expected unknown share, since an address the receiving server won't answer for costs you nothing. What's left is the number of credits you need.
Next it finds the cheapest mix of packs that covers those credits. A list that needs 60,000 credits costs $114 as one 50,000 pack plus one 10,000 pack, which is less than a single 100,000 pack at $139. Anything left over stays in your account for the next list, because ZapBounce credits never expire.
Not sure what to enter for unknowns? Lists heavy on Yahoo or Microsoft domains return more of them, because those servers answer probes inconsistently. If you've never checked, leave it at zero: the figure you see is then the most you'll pay.
| Credits | Pay-as-you-go | Monthly plan | Per check, pay-as-you-go |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $5 | $4 a month | $0.005 |
| 10,000 | $25 | $21 a month | $0.0025 |
| 50,000 | $89 | $76 a month | $0.00178 |
| 100,000 | $139 | $118 a month | $0.00139 |
| 500,000 | $549 | $467 a month | $0.0011 |
| 1,000,000 | $949 | $807 a month | $0.00095 |

Comparing vendors on the same list
A headline price per 1,000 hides three things that change your bill. The first is the pack size: many vendors sell fixed packs, so a 12,000-row list may force a 50,000 pack. The calculator shows the smallest published pack that covers your whole list, with its size, so you can see what you would actually buy.
The second is expiry. Kickbox credits expire one year from purchase (read on kickbox.com, 24 September 2026). If you buy a big pack for a better rate and don't use it within the year, the unused part is lost. ZapBounce credits never expire, so a large pack is a saving you keep.
The third is what gets billed. ZapBounce bills valid, invalid and catch-all results and never bills an unknown or a duplicate. When you compare, check how each vendor treats those two, because on a messy list they can be a real share of the rows.
Every competitor figure in the table comes from that vendor's own site, with the date it was read. Vendors that publish no price are left out rather than guessed. For the full picture on one rival, see ZapBounce vs Kickbox or ZapBounce vs MillionVerifier.
Questions people ask
How much does it cost to verify 1 million email addresses?
ZapBounce charges $949 for 1,000,000 credits pay-as-you-go, or $807 a month on a monthly plan. Duplicates and unknown results use no credits, so a list of a million addresses usually needs fewer than a million credits.
How much does email verification cost per 1,000 emails?
ZapBounce charges $5 for 1,000 credits, which is $0.005 per check. The rate falls with volume to $0.00095 per check at a million, and credits never expire.
Do email verifiers charge for unknown results?
ZapBounce never bills an unknown or a duplicate. Valid, invalid and catch-all results each use one credit. Check each vendor's terms, because billing rules differ and they change what a list really costs.
Is a monthly plan cheaper than pay-as-you-go?
Yes. A ZapBounce monthly plan costs 15% less than the same credits bought pay-as-you-go, and unused credits roll over while the plan is active. Pay-as-you-go suits a one-off clean; a plan suits steady monthly volume.
