100 credits a month, recurring, no card. Unknown results and duplicates leave the allowance untouched, and the report puts the share of the sample with a definite verdict at the top.
- Best for:
- Testing what a sample of your own list looks like, including how much of it nobody can judge. The allowance renews every month, so a list you check in March can be checked again in June. Single addresses also run free in the email verifier tool.
EmailVerify.io
100 credits a month, recurring, which beats a one-time grant of the same size for anyone with a regular trickle of addresses.
- Best for:
- Small ongoing needs that never reach a paid tier.
- Less suited to:
- Knowing up front whether unknown results use up credits, since their pricing page leaves it unstated.
Emailable
250 credits, once, which is enough to check a real sample rather than a handful of addresses.
- Best for:
- A single evaluation before committing, with a sample big enough to mean something.
- Less suited to:
- Ongoing free use, since the allowance does not recur and paid packs start at 5,000 credits.
Reoon
20 a day plus 100 on signup, a daily allowance that suits a steady trickle of single checks.
- Best for:
- Occasional single checks as part of a manual sales workflow.
- Less suited to:
- Checking a list, since 20 a day is not a batch.

How to choose
- Recurring or one time. Emailable's 250 arrive once, while EmailVerify.io and Hunter renew monthly (read September 2026). ZapBounce renews 100 credits every month (do free credits roll over?).
- Unknowns on a free tier. Bouncer doesn't bill them, and EmailVerify.io's page leaves it unstated. On ZapBounce an unknown result costs no credit, free or paid.
- Card at signup. MillionVerifier and Clearout state no card for their free credits. ZapBounce asks for no card either.
- The step after free. Emailable's paid packs start at 5,000 credits and ZeroBounce's at $39 for 2,000. ZapBounce's first paid step is $5 for 1,000 (free vs paid verification).
- One address at a time. The free is this email real? check runs a single address without an account. Other rankings are on the best-of hub.
Questions people ask
Are free email verifiers accurate?
They generally run the same engine as the paid tier, so the results match. The constraint is volume rather than quality.
Which free tier is largest?
Emailable gives 250 credits once. For recurring allowances, ZapBounce and EmailVerify.io give 100 a month and Reoon gives 20 a day after 100 on signup.
Do free tiers require a card?
Several do not, including ZapBounce, MillionVerifier and Clearout. A free tier behind a card is a trial under another name, so check before you start.
Why is NeverBounce not on this list?
NeverBounce's pricing page could not be read on its own site in September 2026, and every ranked entry needs a dated source.
